
You will form habits that are small and precise. Then you will grow them into larger habit structures. You will develop a few for the morning, for the evening, and maybe some for the middle of the day, as well.
If a habit is not forming quickly, or if it is not facilitating the kinds of behaviors you want to develop, or if those behaviors are not developing your character in the way that you want, then we will revise them or start new ones.
We will develop your ability to choose habits that are most conducive to your goals.
I subscribe to a variety of virtue-ethics and negative-utilitarianism. This means that the ethical structures that I am most interested in are those that develop character and that reduce suffering, both in myself and others.
I will coach you in this approach.
Life is difficult and full of suffering. No one is exempt from hedonic adaptation. That means what feels amazing today will feel normal tomorrow.
I will not promise you that your life will be continuously exciting or comfortable, but everyone has a profound opportunity to help those around them and to make their lives more meaningful and fulfilling. That is my approach.
Your philosophy is what matters. I will help you articulate your own philosophy and develop habits that embody it.
